Scope and Contents
The collection contains various materials related to primarily Kury's time in the House. A fierce proponent of Clean Streams, Kury was very active in legislation supporting environmental safeguards. Research materials, including news clippings and hearing transcripts, on such topics as air pollution, the Susquehanna River Basin, and clean streams, make up a large portion of the collection. Kury was also interested in election reform. Files on his sponsored legislation regarding absentee ballots are contained in the collection. News clippings, memoribilia and audio/visual materials make up other portions of the collection. Some personal material is included in the collection. Correspondence and news articles related to Kury's retirement in 1980 as well as a narrative on Mr. and Mrs. Kury's trip to China in 1979 are housed here.
