One of the primary responsibilities of the Appropriations Committee is to host public hearings in the Spring of each year to listen to state agencies' requests for funding for the upcoming fiscal year. The state budget bill and the annual fiscal code are brought to the General Assembly for passage prior to June 30 of each year.
