From the Collection:

The collection represents part of a thirteen year House of Reprentative career in the House of Mauree Gingrich (2003-2016). Mauree Gingrich was particuarly concerned with matters of sexual crimes against women and children. This collection contains a host of legislation that Gingrich helped pass or to introduce. Not all legislation contained within the collection was passed. The rest of the collection contians materials related to her campaign from early 2002, the intial year as district representative, as well as several speeches. The rest of the collection is devoted to DVD'S featuring special committee meetings and House Videos. One of the notable legislative files in the collection is the Sexual Violence Victims Act. The Act was designed to provide counsleing services to victims of sexual crimes. The Act was in response to the Sandusky incident at Penn State University. The Act would provide a means for funding to be raised to help support rape support groups around Pennslyvania. The majority of the collection, being legislative material, includes but is not limited to passed legislation, correspondence, bill text, bill analysis, memoranda, news articles, and testimonials. While serving as Representative, Mauree Gingrich served as Deputy Whip and on several other commissions but the collection does not contain any information on them.
