The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Higher Education were Fred McIlhattan (Majority) and Lawrence H. Curry (Minority). The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Basic Education were Samuel E. Rohrer (Majority) and Thaddeus Kirkland (Minority). The Secretaries were Ronald E. Miller (Majority) and John T. Yudichak (Minority).

The collection also contains the records of the Commission on Rural Education (CORE) established by House Resolution 8 of 2003. This Commission was to examine and study the status of rural education in the Commonwealth and make recommendations for enhancing the quality of education in rural communities.
