The collection represents a small piece of Lawrence H. Curry's time in office. While he was in office from 1993 to 2012 the personal papers from this collection do not reach to that time limit with the majority of the papers found here between the years 1993 and 2009. Representative Curry's main focus was on educational reform while a Democrat in office. Many of his legislative efforts focused on making schools better for students to learn in. He was very informed on the subject as he maintained a sizeable newspaper collection on the matter of education. While education is the majority of this collection the personal papers contain information on firearm safety, constituent concerns, as well as a plethora of inter legislative communications between Curry and his fellow Representatives.
