Biography

Scott W. Boyd was born in 1958, in Lancaster, Lancaster County, Pa. He graduated from Lampeter-Strasburg High School in 1976 and earned his B.A. in political science from Millersville State College (now Millersville University of Pennsylvania) in 1980. Additionally, he graduated from the Lancaster County Master Planning Course.

He was the president and CEO, White Oak Display and Design Incorporated from 1992-2001, an was part-owner from 2001-2010.

Boyd was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican in 2002 and was reelected to serve 4 more terms. He was not a candidate for reelection to the House in 2012.

Scope and Contents

This collection contains all of Representative Boyd's prime sponsor legislation during his tenure in the House. He introduced house bills regarding employer liability, business insurance policies, health care reform and regulation, unemployment compensation, and intergovernmental cooperation between local municipalities. Much of the legislation is reintroduced in each session year.
