Biography

The Bipartisan Management Committee was created in 1979 in order to aid the Speaker of the House in managing some of the more administrative aspects of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, especially the employees.

The Bipartisan Management Committee consists of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Majority and Minority Leaders and Whips. In addition, the Chief Clerk and the Comptroller are selected by the Bipartisan Management Committee, but are only confirmed or removed by a 2/3 majority vote by the Members of the House of Representatives.
