House Resolution 358 established a Select Committee to investigate, review and recommend legislative changes regarding the rising cost of prescription drugs in Pennsylvania. The Committee was directed to submit a Final Report of its findings and recommendations to the House of Representatives.

Scope and Contents
In the Committee’s Final Report, the Committee found that Pennsylvania’s senior citizens were impacted the most by the rising cost in prescription medicine. The Committee determined that State assistance programs had unfair and un-realistic income requirements that excluded many individuals from qualifying for prescription drug discounts.
