Scope and Contents

The records of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives' Liquor Control Committee, the Republicans in the majority, the Democrats in the minority. The Chairs of the Committee were Adam Harris (majority) and Paul Costa (minority). The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Licensing were Jim Marshall (majority) and Frank Burns (minority). The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Marketing were Curt Sonney (majority) and Bill Kortz (minority). The Secretaries of the Committee were Greg Rothman (majority) and Maria Donatucci (minority).The Liquor Control Committee of 2017-2018 was involved in passing several amendments to the act of April 12, 1951, known as the Liquor Code, concerning licensing, permits, and retail regulations.

Pursuant to House Rule 45 of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (titled “Powers and Duties of Standing Committees and Subcommittees”) governing the management and disposition of historically valuable committee material, the secretary of the committee must record the attendance of Members and any votes taken, the minutes of the meeting and records, bills, and other papers in the possession of committees and subcommittees which must be submitted to the Chief Clerk at the end of every two year legislative session for permanent archival storage.
