General
The 1987-1988 Judiciary Committee Records contain several anomalies which require notes. The House Bluebacks and Senate Greenbacks may contain information beyond the actual Blueback/Greenback. For example, House Bill 455, in this collection, has three folders of correspondence and petitions which either support or oppose the bill.
The Subject Files in this collection are not only from 1987-1988. These files were given to the House Archives at the end of the 1987-1988 Session, but may contain documents from the 70’s and 80’s. These files contain a wealth of information and consist of correspondence, research and reports, actions other states have taken, handwritten notes, etc. The titles of the folders are the titles that the Judiciary Committee used, therefore, in this collection, you will not find “Death Penalty,” but you will find “Execution,” etc. Thus, if you cannot locate a file, try a different word to search.
