The records of the State Government Committee from the 2015-2016 session, the Republicans in majority. The Chairs were Daryl Metcalfe (majority) and Mark Cohen. The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Federal-State Relations were Matt Gabler (majority) and Eddie Pashinski. The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Government Operations were Brad Roae (majority) and Mary Jo Daley. The Secretaries were Jerry Knowles (majority) and Leslie Acosta.

Among the various topics covered by this committee were land conveyances throughout the state, amendments to the Right-To-Know law, pensions revisions, reducing the size of the legislature, English as the official language of both Pennsylvania and the United States, and collective bargaining regulations.

Pursuant to House Rule 45 of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (titled “Powers and Duties of Standing Committees and Subcommittees”) governing the management and disposition of historically valuable committee material, the secretary of the committee must record the attendance of Members and any votes taken, the minutes of the meeting and records, bills, and other papers in the possession of committees and subcommittees which must be submitted to the Chief Clerk at the end of every two year legislative session for permanent archival storage.
