The records of the Health Committee from the 2015-2016 session, the Republicans in majority. The chairs were Matthew E. Baker (majority) and Florindo J. Fabrizio. Subcommittee chairs on health care were Marcy Toepel (majority) and Vanessa Lowery Brown. Subcommittee chairs on health facilities were Tarah Toohil (majority) and Michael H. Schlossberg. The secretaries were Kristin Phillips-Hill (Majority) and Mary Jo Daley. The Committee covered many bills during the session. Some major topics covered include medical cannabis marijuana, opioid prescriptions, Hepatitis c testing, human services, and the clean indoor air act. Senate Bill 3 was passed into law which established a medical marijuana program.

Pursuant to House Rule 45 of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (titled “Powers and Duties of Standing Committees and Subcommittees”) governing the management and disposition of historically valuable committee material, the secretary of the committee must record the attendance of Members and any votes taken, the minutes of the meeting and records, bills, and other papers in the possession of committees and subcommittees which must be submitted to the Chief Clerk at the end of every two year legislative session for permanent archival storage.
