Scope and Contents
This collection provides an outstanding glimpse into the working of Pennsylvania's busiest and largest airports and public transportation system. The Commission held public hearings on the Harrisburg International Airport, the Pittsburgh International Airport, the Philadelphia International Airport and the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA). The transcripts to these public hearings are available as full text searchable pdfs through the Pennsylvania House of Representatives Archives Public Hearing Database (http://www.legis.state.pa.us/CFDOCS/Legis/TR/Public/tr_finder_public.cfm).
The Commission also performed research on each of the airports and SEPTA and collected correspondence and press regarding their work. The interim and final reports are valuable resources for researchers interested in transportation, air travel and public transportation systems in Pennsylvania as well as the specific working of this Commission.
