The 1985-1986 session of the Consumer Affairs Committee was chaired by Democrat Charles Laughlin of the Majority. Allen G. Kukovich (Majority) served as Chair of the Subcommittee on Public Utilities. Alphonso Deal (Majority) served as Secretary. Republican Edward F. Burns, Jr. served as Minority Chair. Kathrynann Durham (Minority) served as Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Public Utilities. There was no Minority Secretary.

Box three contains the following series: Meetings, Tours and Public Hearings (Cont'd) (folder 1-4), House Bills (folder 5-82), Senate Bills (folder 83-88), House Blue Backs (folder 89-93), Senate Green Backs (folder 94), and Regulations (folder 95-97). Box four contains the following series: Subcommittees and Task Forces(folder 1-5), and Subject Files (folder 6-8).

Method of Acquisition

Pursuant to House Rule 45 of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (titled “Powers and Duties of Standing Committees and Subcommittees”) governing the management and disposition of historically valuable committee material, the secretary of the committee must record the attendance of Members and any votes taken, the minutes of the meeting and records, bills, and other papers in the possession of committees and subcommittees which must be submitted to the Chief Clerk at the end of every two year legislative session for permanent archival storage.
