Scope and Contents
The 2011-2012 Labor and Industry Committee was chaired by Ronald E. Miller (Majority) and William F. Keller (D). John C. Bear (Majority) and Marc J. Gergely (D) served as Vice Chairs. For the part of the session, Scott Perry (Majority) served as Secretary, until Perry went on military leave and Bear took over his responsibilities until he returned. Neal P. Goodman (D) also served as secretary. Some of the topics discussed during the 2011-2012 session were minimum wage, unemployment compensation, contractor/subcontractor payment, whistleblowers, and employee organizations.

Method of Acquisition
Pursuant to House Rule 45 of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (titled “Powers and Duties of Standing Committees and Subcommittees”) governing the management and disposition of historically valuable committee material, the secretary of the committee must record the attendance of Members and any votes taken, the minutes of the meeting and records, bills, and other papers in the possession of committees and subcommittees which must be submitted to the Chief Clerk at the end of every two year legislative session for permanent archival storage.
