Scope and Contents

The 2011-2012 Finance Committee was chaired by Kerry A. Benninghoff (Majority) and Phyllis Mundy (D). The Vice Chairs were Gordon Denlinger (Majority) and Matthew Smith (D). The Secretaries were Eli Evankovich (Majority) and Kevin J. Boyle (D).

Some of the major topics discussed during the 2011-2012 session were Marcellus Shale Drilling, Property Taxes for Senior Citizens, Disease Management Tax Credit, Updates to the Commonwealth's Tax Policies and Procedures, Tax Incentives for Employers, and Consolidation of Local Tax Collectors.

Method of Acquisition

Pursuant to House Rule 45 of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives (titled “Powers and Duties of Standing Committees and Subcommittees”) governing the management and disposition of historically valuable committee material, the secretary of the committee must record the attendance of Members and any votes taken, the minutes of the meeting and records, bills, and other papers in the possession of committees and subcommittees which must be submitted to the Chief Clerk at the end of every two year legislative session for permanent archival storage.
