Scope and Contents

The items in this collection were gathered by Roger Nick when he was Chief of Staff for Representative Matthew J. Ryan between 1985 and 2003. The majority of the collection, however, is material related to the death of Ryan (funeral, memorials, etc.). There is a large collection of photographs covering the topics of swearing-in ceremonies, Republican Leadership, and posed portraits. A small group of objects is also contained in the collection.

This collection consists of two photographs: bill signing ceremony for House Bill 27 of 1963-1964 and a panoramic photograph of the Members of the House of Representatives on the Floor of the House in 1963. House Bill 27 of 1963-1964 made an appropriation to the Department of Commerce for the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority.� The Panoramic photograph is oversized and is housed with other oversized material.

This collection consists of four folders of photographs: ranging from a photograph of G. Milton Alcorn, a republican Representative from Clearfield County who served during the 1915-1916 session, a staff photo, photographs of the Bicentennial Celebration in Philadelphia in 1976 and a bill signing ceremony for Native Amercan Day in Pennsylvania.

This collection consists of two photographs of W. Mack Guthrie's service to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. The first photograph is of Mr. Guthrie on the Floor of the House and the second is of Mr. Guthrie with Speaker W. Stuart Helm who served from 1941-1964 and S. Edward Moore, the Parliamentarian who served from 1935-1964 and 1967-1968.

Scope and Contents The bulk of David C. Parker’s papers is devoted to his legislative work during his first and only term as a PA Representative. Throughout this term, Parker’s legislative interests were wide and varied, ranging from providing further punishment against cruelty to animals, proposed restructuring and consolidation of Pennsylvania schools, and various tax codes. Scope and Contents

This collection is comprised of various materials that Sandra Major produced and utilized during her time as a Representative in the Pennsylvania House from 1995 to 2016. Two cubic feet worth of records contain mostly her prime-sponsored legislation and district materials. Many of the items deal with issues relating to Marcellus Shale and fracking within her district. The geography of her district became a center point of this booming industry in the early 2000s.

This collection contains campaign materials, research related to legislation, news clippings, photographs, and a substantial number of awards. The majority of legislative work pretains to environmental concerns, which were a primary focus of Rep. Carole Rubley during her time in office. Taken together, this collection gives a researcher interested in Rep. Rubley a holistic view of her interests and how she spent her time as a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

Scope and Contents The collection represents part of a thirteen year House of Reprentative career in the House of Mauree Gingrich (2003-2016). Mauree Gingrich was particuarly concerned with matters of sexual crimes against women and children. This collection contains a host of legislation that Gingrich helped pass or to introduce.
