Scope and Contents

This collection could have been originally housed at the PA State Archives. It was not processed and was found in the House Archives in it's original state. Not sure of transfer date, if any. It is not a complete committee collection as the main contents are of reports and subject files. The meeting files are not complete.

Many of the materials were stored improperly and had damage to pages with the House Blue Backs and the State Transportation Commission files.

Scope and Contents

The 1973-1974 Health and Welfare Committee was chaired by Sherman L. Hill (R) and Anita Palermo Kelly (Minority). The Sub-Committee Chairman of Health was Patricia A. Crawford (R), and James D. Barber (Minority). The Sub-Committee Chairman of Welfare was Richard A. McClatchy, Jr. (R) and Milton Berkes (Minority). Some of the topics of the 1973-1974 Health and Welfare Committee were Medicaid, Welfare, Food Service, and the Blossburg State Hospital.

The 1975-1975 Health and Welfare Committee was chaired by Anita Palermo Kelly (D). The Sub-Committee Chairman on Health was David C. DiCarlo (D). The Sub-Committee Chair on Welfare was James D. Barber (D). The Sub-Committtee Chair on Youth and Aging was Thomas J. Fee (D). The Secretary was Frank L. Oliver (D). Some of the topics discussed during the 1975-1976 session were Artificial Insemination, Adoption, Fetal Rites, and Pharmacies.

During the 1975-1976 session, the Mines and Energy Management Committee focused on Energy Conservation, Federal Energy Programs, and Pennsylvania Energy.

This committee met over major topics including foreign partnerships, judiciary fees, salary of judges, childcare and grounds for divorce. No public hearings are filed.
