The records of the Appropriations Committee for the 2017-2018 Session, the Republicans in majority. The Chairs of the Committee were Stanley Saylor (majority) and Joseph Markosek (minority). The Vice Chairs were George Dunbar (majority) and Tim Briggs (minority). The Secretary was Jeffrey Pyle (majority) followed by Michael Peifer (majority).

The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Government and Financial Oversight were Seth Grove (majority) and Tim Briggs (minority).

The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Fiscal Policy were Warren Kampf (majority) and Peter Schweyer (minority).

The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Econonmic Impact and Infrastructure were Curt Sonney (minority) and Mary Jo Daley (minority).

The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Health and Human Services were Jim Christiana (majority) and Madeleine Dean (minority).

The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Education were Karen Boback (majority) and Stephen Kinsey (minority).

The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Criminal Justice were Garth Everett (majority) and Donna Bullock (minority).

One of the primary responsibilities of the Appropriations Committee is to host public hearings in the spring of each year to listen to state agencies' requests for funding for the upcoming fiscal year. The state budget bill and the annual fiscal code are brought to the General Assembly for passage prior to June 30 of each year.
