The records of the Transportation Committee from the 2015-2016 session, the Republicans in majority. The chairs were John Taylor (majority) and William Keller. Subcommittee chairs on aviation were Mike Vereb (majority) and Michael H. Schlossberg. Subcommittee chairs on highways were Mark K. Keller (majority) and Mike Carroll. Subcommittee chairs on public transportation were Marguerite Quinn (majority) and Stephen Kinsey. Subcommittee chairs on railroads Jeffrey P. Pyle (majority) and Robert F. Matzie. Subcommittee chairs on transportation safety Jim Marshall (majority) and Ed Gainey. The secretaries were Doyle Heffley (majority) and Bryan Barbin. The Committee covered many bills during the session. Some major topics included the 2015 Philadelphia train derailment, driving under the influence, and interlocks. Bills that were passed include House Bill 871, allowing the de-titling of vehicles after being recycled, House Bill 1087, which enabled the creation of the Delaware River Joint Commission, and House Bill 1335 which removed the requirement that the PA Turnpike Commission must provide emergency telephones along every two miles of the PA Turnpike.
