This collection includes campaign and biographical material, legislative work files, events, community and constituent work files, photographs and a video of Mr. Bastian's farewell address on the floor of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Mr. Bastian's legislative work files include both administrative aspects of getting a bill introduced on the House Floor, and also a letter introducing the legislation to fellow legislators. In this letter, the legislative intent of the bill is almost always established as well as a description of the actual bill and the benefits that will hopefully result from the bill. Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Grants have been sampled, but are still an outstanding example of the type of work achieved for a legislative district. Mr. Bastian also included many of the citations he introduced for his constituents. These files are indicative of the efforts made in the district rather than those made in Harrisburg. All of the photographs in this collection were identified prior to donation and therefore, a great deal of information is included with the photographs.
