The records of the Business and Commerce Committee from the 1985-1986 session, the Democrats in the majority. The chairs were Fred Taylor (majority) and L. Eugene Smith (minority). The subcommittee chairs on Banking and Savings and Loan Associations were Thomas R. Caltagirone (majority) and Lois Sherman Hagarty (minority). The subcommittee chairs on Housing were Steve Seventy (majority) and Frank A. Serafini (minority). The subcommittee chairs on Industrial Development, Recreation, and Tourism were Henry Livengood (majority) and James M. Burd (minority). The Secretary was Rishard O. Olasz (majority).

Some key issues that were covered during this session were audits, banking protocol, loan and grant distributions, and regulations of mortgage bankers and mortgage brokers. There was focus on both the private and public sectors, including large and small businesses.
