Tour of a Bear Den and Lecture by Pennsylvania Game Commission Personnel regarding the State's Bear Population, Renovo, PA, March 15-16, 2007
Scope and Contents
During the 2007-2008 Session, the Game and Fisheries Committee held hearings on the following topics: House Bill 251 (Regulation of Hunting in Vicinity of Feeding Stations), House Bill 1436 (Creation of a Junior Fishing License), House Bill 2205 (Increasing Penalties for Game Code Violations) and Deer Farming in Pennsylvania. The Committee toured a Bear Den, Elk Ranges and Mountain Ridge Whitetails as well as the National High Power Rifle Silhouette Competition and Sinter Fire, a company manufacturing lead free ammunition. They also discussed the Annual Reports of both the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and the Pennsylvania Game Commission.
The 2007-2008 Game and Fisheries Committee was chaired by Democrat Edward Staback with fellow Democrats Neal Goodman serving as Vice Chair and Deberah Kula serving as Secretary. On the Republican side, Samuel Rohrer served as Minority Chair, Gordon Denlinger served as Minority Vice Chair and Brad Roae served as Minority Secretary.
