Coroner Questionnaires, 1989
Scope and Contents
The Local Government Commission was created in 1935 though the earliest records are from 1965-2002. It is a bipartisan agency consisting of five House Members and five Senators appointed by the President Pro Tempore of the Senate and Speaker of the House, respectively. The main function of the Local Government Commission, outside of providing research assistance to the General Assembly, is to introduce legislation that will allow local governments to run smoothly. During the time this collection covers they addressed issues in municipal planning, state mandates, and intergovernmental agreements.
