The 2011-2012 Urban Affairs Committee was chaired by Chris Ross (Majority) and W. Curtis Thomas (D). Joseph T. Hackett (Majority) and Kenyatta J. Johnson (D) served as Subcommittee Chair on Cities, Counties-First Class. Rick Saccone (Majority) and Daniel J. Deasy (D) served as Subcommittee Chair on Cities, Counties- Second Class. Susan C. Helm (Majority) and Patrick J. Harkins (D) served as Subcommittee Chair on Cities, Counties- Third Class. The Secretary was Justin J. Simmons (Majority) and Vanessa Lowery Brown (D). Some of the topics discussed in the 2011-2012 session were Land Banking, Reform of the Real Estate Tax Sales Process, Financially Distressed Municipalities, and the Philadelphia Housing Authority.
