Scope and Contents
The records of the Game and Fisheries Committee from the 2011-2012 session, Republicans in the majority. The Chairs were John R. Evans (R) and Edward G. Staback (D). The Vice-Chairs were Todd Rock (R) and Kevin P. Murphy (D). Kurt A. Masser (R) served as Secretary. During the 2011-2012 session, the Committee focused on legislation regarding boating, fishing, and hunting regulations. One of the major issues affecting the Committee during this session was the debate over expanding the right to hunt on Sundays (House Bill 1760). The Committee also held meetings with representatives from the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission and the Game Commission to hear and discuss their annual reports.
