This collection contains several different materials from Kenneth J. Cole's time in office with the PA House of Representatives. The collection consists of campaign materials from his eight terms (1974-1990), legislative work, correspondence, extensive subject files on the 125th Anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg and the Battle of Gettysburg Commission, years of news clippings (campaign ads, community/district work and legislation), photographs from numerous events, awards and memorabilia as well. Cole's papers reflect his extensive efforts and works with several committees and commisions such as the Chesapeake Bay Commission, Battle of Gettysburg Commission, the Eisenhower Commission, the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee, the Cancer Control Program and Devils Den Committee. Much of the legislation that is highlighted in Cole's papers is related to the preservation and education of the Gettysburg Monuments and Battle Field as well as legislation with the Chesapeake Bay Commission. Additionally, this collection contains plaques and special edition news papers along with other oversized materials.
