Scope and Contents

An Act amending the act of June 2, 1915 (P. L. 736, No. 338), known as "The Pennsylvania Workmen's Compensation Act," further providing for contractors, compensation rates; further defining "occupational disease" and providing therefor; providing for certain payments into the Workmen's Compensation Security Fund; further providing for partial disability and specific loss; increasing compensation rates and providing for future annual increases; further providing for the running of periods of limitation for other procedural matters, for the rights of employees and for certain attorney fees; and making editorial changes. An Act amending the act of December 5, 1936 (2nd Sp. Sess., 1937 P. L. 2897, No. 1), known as the "Unemployment Compensation Law," defining "base year wages." An Act amending the act of May 17, 1921 (P. L. 682, No. 284), known as "The Insurance Company Law of 1921," further providing for the classification of risks, underwriting rules, premium rates, and schedule and merit rating plans; and providing for certain additional coverage in workmen's compensation insurance and for the computation of workmen's compensation premium rates. An Act providing for the establishment, administration and licensing of workers' compensation group self-insurance funds by employers.
