The records of the Education Committee of the 2013-2014 session, the Republicans in Majority. Paul Clymer was the Majority Chair and James Roebuck was the Minority Chair. The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Basic Education were Bernard O'Neill (Majority) and Mark Longietti (Minority). The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Higher Education were Jim Christiana (Majority) and H. Scott Conklin (Minority). The Chairs of the Subcommittee on Special Education were Kathy Rapp (Majority) and Patrick Harkins (Minority). The Secretaries were Will Tallman (Majority) and Steven Santarsiero (Minority).

The committee discussed the topics of charter and cyber charter schools extensively and how they compare to standard schools in Pennsylvania. The issue of Common Core Academic Standards was also covered by the Committee. Other topics covered by the Committee included truancy, religious educational institutions, teacher certification and bullying.
