Thomas Joseph Ridge, born August 26, 1945 in Munhall, Pennsylvania. Educated at St. Andrews Elementary School and Cathedral Preparatory School. Graduated Harvard College, 1967. Graduated Dickinson School of Law, 1972. Served Vietnam War, Staff Sergeant to Staff sergeant Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 11th Infantry Brigade, 23rd Infantry Division, 1969-1970. Elected as Republican to U.S. House of Representatives, 1983-1995. Governor of Pennsylvania, 1995-2001. 1st United States Homeland Security Advisor, 2001-2003. 1st United States Secretary of Homeland Security, 2003-2005.
