SHANER, James E., a Representative from Fayette and Westmoreland Counties; born in Connellsville, Fayette County, Pa., September 21, 1936; graduated, Uniontown Senior High School, 1955; B.A., education, Fairmont State College; M.Ed., West Virginia University; attended, California State College (now California University of Pennsylvania); teacher and coach, Uniontown High School; self-employed laborer; owner and operator, Ye Olde Inn Restaurant; elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1994; reelected to serve 5 more consecutive terms; not a candidate for reelection to the House (2006); died, April 15, 2012 in Uniontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania; interred, Greenridge Memorial Park, Connellsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania.
