Biography
Shawn T. Flaherty was a Representative from Allegheny County. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1981. He received a J.D. from Duquesne University Law School in 1985. Flaherty was an associate at Meyer, Unkovic and Scott LLP. In addition, he was a partner at Woodruff and Flaherty P.C.from 1997 to 2004. He was also a partner at Woodruff, Flaherty and Fardo LLC from 2004 to 2006. He was elected as a Democrat to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a Special Election on April 11, 2006, and Sworn-In on May 2, 2006 to serve the remaining 2005 term. He was unsuccessful in his campaign for reelection to the House (2006). He continues to serve as a partner at Flaherty Fardo LLC (2006-present). He was elected an alternate delegate for the Democratic National Convention in 2008.
