Biography
Marvin D. Weidner was a Representative from Bucks County. He was born in Telford, Bucks County, Pennsylvania on August 29, 1911. Weidner graduated fromSouderton High School, and from Pierce Business School in 1931. He also attended The Pennsylvania State University Extension in 1965. He was a freight solicitor for Norfolk and Western Railroad (1941-1951), and freight solicitor for Winston-Salem Southbound Railroad (1951-1963). He later served as tax collector for Telford Borough (1946-1966). Weidner was a member of the Bucks County Republican Executive Committee (1960-1968) and was later elected, treasurer of Bucks County (1964-1966). Weidner was elected as a Republican to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1966 and served 6 consecutive terms thereafter. He was appointed to the Local Government Commission (1975-1980 and served as chair (1979-1980). During his time in office, Weidner worked on bills related to adoption protection, regulating the legitimacy of children in divorces, as well as tax codes and other educational improvements. Weidner died while in office from cancer on July 29, 1980 in Sellersville, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. He is interred in Christ Reformed Church of Indian Creek Cemetery, Telford, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.

This collection was from an ebay purchase in October 2020. The materials within the collection range from photographs to bill signing awards. The collection is mainly photograph based, which many have discoloration, tears, or water damage from years of inproper storage. They are now in mylar for best preservation purposes. There is a briefcase and attache included in the collection, in addition to two awards and a plate from the Milton Shapp administration.
