Biography
Jay R. Wells III was born in Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, PA on June 5, 1940. He attended Bethel Park public schools and later graduated from the University of Pittsburg with his B.S. in 1962. Wells went on to receive D.D.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1965. Wells was in the Dental Corps in the United States Air Force from 1965 to 1967. He was a dentist throughtout his life. Wells was a member of the Bethel Park Republican Committee from 1961 to 1965 and from 1968 to 1971. He was also a member of the Bethel Park Reapportionment Commission after he was elected Judge of Elections in Allegheny County from 1961 to 1965. He was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives as a Republican for the 1971 and 1973 term, he was unsuccessful for the 1975 election. He was eleceted a delegate for the Republican National Convention in 2012. Wells currently resides in Bethel Park.
