Tangretti, Thomas A., 1946-
biographical statement
Born September 20, 1946, Thomas Tangretti received a B.A. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1968 and an M.P.A. from the University of Pittsburgh in 1977. He served in the United States Army Reserve from 1968 to 1974. He was the Administrative Assistant to Congressman John H. Dent from 1968 to 1978 and the Westmoreland County Controller from 1983 to 1988.
Tangretti married Sandra Scherer and has two children, two stepchildren, and three grandchildren.
During his House tenure, he served on the following Committees: Federal-State Relations (1989-1990), Health and Welfare (1989-1994), Labor Relations (1989-1990), Insurance (1995-2006), Commerce (2005-2006), Consumer Affairs (2005-2006), State Government (1991-1994), Local Government (1991-2004, 2007-2008), Commerce and Economic Development (1999-2004), Appropriations (1993-1998, 2003-2006), and Tourism and Recreational Development (2007-2008).
