biographical statement
Craig A. Dally served as a Republican in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1997-2010, representing the 138th District which covers Northampton County.
He was born in Easton, Pennsylvania on May 16, 1956 to John T. and Marge Sagness Dally. He graduated from Pen Argyl Area High School in 1974, and in 1978 earned his B.A. in Economics and Business from Lafayette College. In 1988 he graduated from Villanova University School of Law. Dally is married to his wife Ann and has two girls named Sarah and Alison.
He was also a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, Northampton County Bar Association, St. John Lutheran Church, the Pen Argyl Board of Directors, and the Nazareth YMCA. He was also the former director of Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Lehigh Valley, a former Big Brother, and president of the Nazareth YMCA from 1995 to 1996. He served on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency from 2007 to 2010, the Public School Financing Authority and the Higher Education Financing Authority.
Dally served in a variety of Committees throughout his time as a member of the House of Representatives. He served on the Game and Fisheries Committee in the 1997-1998 session, and in the 2009-2010 session he became the Chair. He also served on the Judiciary Committee from 1997-2006 and was the Subcommittee Chair on Courts from 2003-2006. He joined the Local Government Committee from 1997-2002 and was secretary from 1999-2002. He also served on the Professional Licensure Committee from 1997-2010, the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee from 2003-2004, the Urban Affairs Committee from 2005-2006, the Liquor Control Committee from 2007-2008 and the Rules Committee from 2007-2010. He further served on the Appropriations Committee from 1997-2008 and was Vice Chair for the 2007-2008 session.
