Siptroth, John J., 1946-
biographical statement
John J. Siptroth (D), born in 1946, in East Stroudsburg, son of Celia (Siptroth) Cerino, Nunzio Cerino, and the late Stanley Siptroth. He Served in the U.S. Navy as a 2nd class petty officer in 1964. Siptroth is a former Smithfield Township supervisor. Siptroth was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in a special election held on February 5, 2005. He served the 189th District of Monroe and Pike Counties for three consecutive terms from 2005 to 2010. He is married to Elaine Siptroth and has two children.
Siptroth served on the Appropriations, Commerce, Tourism and Recreational Development, and Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committees. He chaired the Subcommittee on Aviation of the Transportation Committee.
