biographical statement
John W. Fichter was born on January 3, 1935 in West Conshocoken. He was the son of John J. and Ella N. Fichter. He graduated from Norristown Highschool in 1952. He earned a degree from Ursinus College in 1975. He was first elected as a Republican to represent the 70th legislative district of Montgomery County in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 1992. He retired prior to the 2006 election. Fichter passed away on February 11, 2014 in East Norriton Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
