Mark McNaughton served in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives from 1997-2006 for the 104th Legislative District. He was born on May 7, 1963 in Susquehanna Township, Pennsylvania, and he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and Finance from Elizabethtown College in 1985 and his Law Degree from Weidner University School of Law in 2003. Before being elected to the House of Representatives, he worked as Vice-President of the McNaughton Company from 1981-1996 and Site Developer/Manager for McNaughton Homes from 1985-1991. Politically, he was a member of the Dauphin County Young Republicans from 1985-1988 and worked the Santorum for Senate campaign in 1994. During his tenure in the House, Rep. McNaughton served on the Finance Committee from 1997-2002, the Labor Relations Committee from 1997-1998, the Liquor Control Committee from 1997-2006, the Local Government Committee from 1997-2006 as Sub-Committee Chair on Boroughs from 2001-2006, the Games and Fisheries Committee from 1999-2006, and the Judiciary Committee from 2003-2006. Legislatively, Rep. McNaughton sponsored amendments and bills to update the PA Construction Code, namely Act 13 of 2004, which included the adoption of successor codes for municipalities and providing for the education and training of municipal police officers. He also supported allowing home schooled children to participate in activities with local school districts, organ donation causes and scholarships, tax cuts and reform, and exposing the problems of local governments and municipalities. He retired from the House in 2006 to continue working within the political spectrum as a lawyer and lobbyist. In early 2007, he was temporarily appointed to the PA Gaming Board.
