Mazia, Ted, 1946-2014
Biography
Born in Vandergrift on November 20, 1946, Mr. Mazia was the son of the late Emil and Charlotte Mazurek Mazia. Served with honor and distinction as a Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania and passed away at the age of sixty-seven on January 9, 2014; a veteran of the United States Air Force, he served this country with honor and distinction during the Vietnam War; began serving with the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania in 1969 and held the positions of Messenger, Assistant Secretary, Legislative Roll Call Clerk, Superintendent and Assistant Chief Clerk. He was elected as Chief Clerk of the House in 1995, the position from which he retired in 2005. Mr. Mazia was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1718, the American Legion, Holy Rosary Council No. 869 and Sons and Daughters of Italy, American Lodge No. 2857.
