Biography

House Resolution 104 created the Select Committee to Study Autism in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a result of the availability, or lack thereof, of services to autistic children since fifteen out of fifteen or every 10,000 children had autism in 1987. Not only was the Select Committee to study autism, but they were also to look into the services available and the services needed for autistic children.

The Select Committee was comprised of Chairman Joseph Markosek, Vice Chairman George Sauerman, and Representatives Frank LaGrotta, Henry Livengood, Ruth Rudy, Edward Wiggins, George Jackson, Jere Schuler and Nicholas Anthony Miccozie.
