Biography
The Pennsylvania High Speed Rail Commission was established by Act 144 of 1981. The Commission was set to expire five years after the effective date of December 22, 1981. Act 190 of 1986 extended the expiration date of the Commission to December 31, 1987.

This collection contains meeting notes, research on high speed rail in other states and other countries, reports, product / engineering research, as well as various reports and news clipings created and about the commission.
While the Commission formally was funded from 1981-1987, materials in this collection were collected both before and following those dates. The research continues into the early 1990s.
