Biography

House Resolution 254, adopted November 28, 1984, created the Select Committee to Investigate the Crisis in Staffing of Welfare Offices. The committee was responsible for promoting the fulfillment of sufficient staffing so that the legislators could protect basic human rights and insure the provision of basic services to the unemployeed, the underemployeed, the sick, the elderly, the poor and minorities.

The Chair was Edward A. Wiggins (D). Members included H. William DeWeese, Robert Freeman, David P. Richardson, Jr., Joseph M. Gladeck, Jr., Nicholas B. Moehlmann and John E. Peterson.
