Biography

House Resolution 246, adopted June 27, 1984, created the House Special Committee to Investigate Landfills. The committee was responsible for addressing and seeking solutions to Pennsylvania's major energy, environmental and economic problems in regards to management of solid waste and materials/energy resources.

The Chair was John Cordisco (D). Members included Stephen Levin, Michael Gruitza, William Baldwin, Gregory Snyder, James Manderino, Mattew J. Ryan, John Zubeck and James Burd.

Scope and Contents

The scope of this investigation included the study of the amount of waste generated each day in Pennsylvania and landfill capacities within the Commonwealth.
