The Federal State Relations Committee was created in 1975, and has been referred over 30 bills, eight of which have become laws. The Committee faced the issue of the District of Columbia Voting Rights Amendment to the United States Constitution. Additionally the passage of the North American Free Trade Agreement was scrutinized, and its effects on the Pennsylvania economy and job market. Other areas of interest to the committee include the following: Appalachian Corridor Proposal, Federal Block Grant Programs, Conference on Renewable Sources of Energy, Conference on State and Local Regulatory Reform, Medicare and Medicaid Programs, PA Commission on Interstate Cooperation, Groundwater Resources of the Lower Susquehanna River Basin, Chesapeake Bay Commission, Vietnam Herbicides Information Commission, Devolving Federal Program Responsibilities and Revenue Sources to State and Local Governments, For Farmland Committee, and Bipartisan Acid Rain Caucus.

Scope and Contents In addition to addressing all normal sorts of committee business, during the 1977-1978 Session, the Federal State Relations Committee dealt with several specific issues.
