biographical statement
In 2011 the Health and Human Services Committee was split into two standing committees: the Health Committee and the Human Services Committee. The House Health and Human Services Committee, established in 1995, replaced the Health and Welfare Committee which was in existence from 1969-1994. The Human Services Committee regularly considers bills dealing with a wide variety of issues concerning substance abuse and various services provided by the state. Some topics include drugs and alcohol, mental health, disabilities, rehabilitation, and welfare of the people of the Commonwealth.
